鉄道時計通史

A brief history of clocks and watches on the railroad: I'll explain the relationship between railroads and time in America, starting from its early days. You might be surprised to learn things you didn't know, like master-slave clocks and the U.S. Naval Observatory. Of course, this also includes clock towers, railroad chronometers, time signals and time zones.

探しものをしていたら，古い懐中時計が2つ出てきた．
　両方とも，とある記念に頂戴したもので懐かしい．そういえば鉄道には時計が付きモノ，いくつか疑問に思っていたことを検索したら，この懐中時計とか，電信のこととか．詳しく書かれていて感服させられた．けれど，それらの関連性については首をひねってしまった．流れが関連付けられていないのだ．ミッシングリンクと呼べる事柄もある．
　というわけで，僭越ながら私がストーリーを語ってみようと思う．まあ漢字は「騙る」の方が適切かもしれない．【画像はクリックで拡大】
